The North Hills School District Board of Education on June 5 approved the final budget for the 2025-26 school year.

The budget has revenues and expenditures of $100,117,355 and includes no real estate tax increase, keeping the district’s milage rate at 20.37 and among the lowest in Allegheny County.

The spending plan includes funding for a new certified school nurse and the replacement of 3,600 iPads for students in grades K-8. The current iPads are five years old, with outdated operating systems that may not be compatible with current instructional software and security safeguards. Students in grades 9-12 currently receive Dell laptops, which were purchased prior to the 2024-25 school year.

The budget remains unchanged from the proposed final budget, which was discussed and passed by the board in May.

The board on June 5 also approved the district’s homestead exclusion for 2025-26. The $2,494,550.81 allocation, resulting from state gaming funds, is divided equally among taxpayers with approved homestead properties as a reduction against their total taxes owed. For 2025-26, that reduction is $225.30.

All board members also voted in favor of the budget and homestead exclusion.
