Another week of fall sports is in the books, and the teams at North Hills are enjoying strong seasons. Here's a look at what our teams did last week:

Golf

Varsity golf posted a 2-2 record last week, losing to Pine-Richland and Fox Chapel while defeating Armstrong and Valley. North Hills has now defeated three of its last five opponents, and in its most recent match, shot a 205, one stroke over its season-best.

Girls' Tennis

The girls' tennis team defeated Seneca Valley and lost to Mars last week. With a current section record of 5-1, the girls have clinched a spot in the 3A WPIAL team playoffs for the second year in a row. Congratulations, girls!

Girls' Soccer

The girls' soccer team went 0-3 last week, falling to Pine-Richland, Seneca Valley, and Shaler Area despite playing some strong games. Entering play this week, the girls own an overall record of 2-5.

Boys' Soccer

Boys' soccer saw its seven-game unbeaten streak come to an end last week at the hands of Seneca Valley. The boys did beat Pine-Richland, however, to reach a 2-1 record in the section and a 6-2-1 record overall.

Cross Country

The varsity cross country teams ran against Butler last week before taking on the Youthtowne Clash on Friday. North Hills was led by Megan Bolinda on the girls' side and Ben McCarty on the boys' side. Both runners finished in fourth place.

Girls' Volleyball

In section play last week, the girls' volleyball team recorded a pair of convincing 3-0 victories over Gateway and Fox Chapel. This week, the girls take their 2-1 section record into a three-match week, highlighted by two more section showdowns.

Football

The varsity football team remained undefeated after beating Peters Township last week. A 10-0 victory improved the team's record to 3-0 this season. The Indians will open section play this week when they travel to Penn Hills.

This week's home and away events can be found on the North Hills Athletics website.
