Important information for 2026 fall sports season

North Hills football, Jack Broderick (#13)
Matthew McGinnis

With the 2025-26 school year in the books, we are already looking ahead to 2026-27, and that means the fall sports season will be here soon.

Interscholastic sports are open to students in grades 7-12, and the fall offerings for the middle school and high school students are listed below, along with pre-season workouts, to prepare for the season.

The first official practice date for the 2026 fall sports season is Monday, August 17. The season will start a week earlier, on Monday, August 10, for football and golf. The official start date could vary at the middle school level.

Student physical forms and required paperwork to compete is collected online via Healthy Roster. All parents must create a Healthy Roster account and upload all required documentation. For complete instructions and a list of what’s required, click here.

In addition to Healthy Roster, baseline concussion testing is necessary for some student-athletes. Students entering grades 7, 9, or 11 (or any student who has never had a baseline test) and participating in football, soccer, volleyball and/or, cheer should schedule a baseline test now at nhsports.youcanbook.me.

If you have questions about Healthy Roster, physicals, or concussion testing, contact our athletic trainers, Eric Cardwell or Vale Woodard.

All NHSD sports teams use sportsYou for team-specific communication, including practice and games schedules. All student-athletes and parents/guardians should join their team’s sportsYou page. A code to join is shared by the coach each season.

High school student-athletes from each team are introduced before participating in friendly games such as the limbo, tug of war, cartwheel race, field goal kicking contest, and pie eating contest. There are also performances by our North Hills Marching Band and high school and middle school cheerleaders. The event is free to attend.
