This week, girls' tennis juniors Ellie Kim and Adelaide Seigworth competed in the section doubles tournament.
A great first day of competition, which featured a pair of 10-1 victories, landed Ellie and Adelaide in the semifinals. On day two, the North Hills duo took on the top pair from North Allegheny and won 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.
In the final, Ellie and Adelaide lost in straight sets to Pine-Richland to finish second in the section. While it would have been great to see our girls win, their second-place finish still earns them a spot in next week's WPIAL Doubles Championships. The first round begins on Wednesday, October 2.
