Members of the North Hills High School girls flag football team took part in a unique and empowering experience during 2026 NFL Draft week, attending a regional flag football clinic that combined athletic development with lifesaving training.

The event was held at the AHN Montour Sports Complex and hosted by the Off the Field NFL Wives Association in partnership with the American Heart Association. It brought together more than 600 girls from across the region to build their flag football skills while also learning hands-only CPR.

Throughout the clinic, student-athletes rotated through football drills focused on teamwork, agility and game strategy, while also participating in CPR training sessions designed to equip them with critical, real-world skills. The hands-on instruction emphasized the importance of quick action in emergency situations and gave participants the confidence to respond if needed.

For North Hills students, the day offered more than just time on the field. It was an opportunity to connect with peers, learn from experienced coaches and mentors, and be part of a growing movement supporting girls in flag football, one of the fastest-growing sports nationwide.

The experience reflects North Hills School District’s continued commitment to providing students with meaningful opportunities that extend beyond the classroom. By combining athletics with health and safety education, the event helped students grow as both competitors and community members.

North Hills is proud of its student-athletes for representing the district and embracing an experience that highlighted leadership, teamwork and the importance of being prepared to make a difference.
