The North Hills Foundation is proud to fund five $1,000 scholarships for North Hills High School seniors in 2026, a $2,000 increase over the total awarded in 2025.

These scholarships will support students as they take the next step after graduation, whether pursuing higher education, specialized training, or entering the workforce. They are made possible through the generosity of the district’s alumni, employees, community partners, and other donors. The Foundation was also given a generous donation from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association last year.

The following scholarships will be awarded in 2026:

  • Three (3) $1,000 College & University Scholarships – For seniors attending a four-year college or university. These scholarships recognize students committed to continuing their academic journey at a traditional post-secondary institution.
  • One (1) $1,000 Trade & Technical Scholarship – For a senior enrolling in a two-year college, vocational school, technical institute, or career training program. This award supports students pursuing hands-on learning and specialized career education.
  • One (1) $1,000 Workforce Scholarship – For a senior entering the workforce directly after graduation. Eligible students may be pursuing apprenticeships, internships, industry certifications, or jobs requiring equipment or startup costs. This scholarship helps ease the transition from high school to a hands-on career.

Applicants should demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact in their community. The application deadline is April 15. No late applications will be accepted. Learn more and apply here.

Applications will be reviewed by a committee composed of members of the North Hills Foundation Board of Directors, designated donors and representatives from the North Hills School District administration and high school counseling office.

Scholarship recipients will be announced during the high school’s annual Senior Awards Night on Monday, May 18, at 7 p.m. in the North Hills High School auditorium.

In addition to these scholarships, the Foundation supports several other awards, including the newly added Chads Mullinary Real Estate Trade & Technical Scholarship and the Addie Maiette Memorial Scholarship.

2026 also marks the fourth year of the Peggy Ann Madden Scholarship, established in 2023 in memory of longtime North Hills teacher and speech and debate coach Peggy Ann Madden. Endowed by sports talk radio host Mark Madden, the scholarship has awarded more than $16,000 to students since its inception.
