North Hills Track & Field excels at Slippery Rock Invitational

North Hills track and field athletes delivered an impressive all-around performance at the Slippery Rock Invitational, earning multiple first-place finishes and strong placements across both the girls and boys competitions.

The girls team was highlighted by a dominant win in the 4x400-meter relay, as Kayla Flanigan, Sophia Mendez, Addy Franz and Ayla Werner combined for a first-place finish. Emerson Schall also led the way in the field events, capturing first place in the javelin and adding a seventh-place finish in the shot put.

In distance events, Flanigan earned a third-place finish in the 800-meter run, followed closely by Werner in fifth and Gwen Barkovich in sixth. The 4x100-meter relay team of Gabby Gouch, Chelsea Geyer, Ella Bricker and Sophia Mendez placed seventh.

The boys team matched that success with several standout performances of its own. The 4x800-meter relay team of James Dunlap, Quinn Lightner, Avery Dixon and Jackson Hill claimed first place, while Cody Miller took the top spot in the 400-meter dash. North Hills also secured a win in the 4x400-meter relay, with Jack Mayer, Avery Dixon, James Dunlap and Miller finishing first.

Additional top performances included a second-place finish in the triple jump by Brody Diehl, who also placed fourth in the long jump. Ben McCarty earned fourth in the 3,200-meter run, while Domenic Monroe placed fourth in the shot put. Jack Mayer added a seventh-place finish in the 400-meter dash, and Avery Dixon (800m) and Logan Berry (triple jump) each finished eighth.

Overall, the invitational showcased the depth and talent of the North Hills program, with athletes competing at a high level across a wide range of events.
