Softball team begins PIAA tournament at Red Land
The North Hills softball team finished fourth in the WPIAL this season and is now set to compete for a state title.
As the fourth-place finisher in the WPIAL, the Indians will head east to take on the District 3 champions, the Red Land Patriots. Red Land lost only three games this season, knocking off the top two teams in District 3 on its way to a district title.
Meanwhile, North Hills will look to bounce back after two straight losses ended its run in the WPIAL playoffs. The Indians enter this first-round matchup with an overall record of 17-6.
The PIAA first-round game between North Hills and Red Land will be on Monday, June 2, at 4:30 PM at Red Land High School. Fans planning to make the trip to support the softball team can buy tickets via HomeTown Ticketing.
The winner of Monday's game will face either Central Mountain or Penn-Trafford in the PIAA quarterfinals. That game would be on Thursday, June 5.
Good luck to our girls in the first round of the state tournament!
