Advanced Placement (AP)
The Advanced Placement (AP) Program is a nationally-recognized, rigorous curriculum sponsored by the College Board. The program provides an opportunity for high school students to choose college-level courses and receive undergraduate college credits or advanced standing if their AP Exam scores qualify. More than 90 percent of colleges in the United States give credit or provide advanced standing to students whose AP Exam scores are within a specified range. Students seeking to receive AP accreditation must take the end-of-course exam offered each May.

AP Exams
Taking the Advanced Placement exams is an important part of all AP courses and North Hills High School hopes that all students will take the AP exams for their corresponding AP classes.
Preparing for and taking an AP exam can often allow students to build skills and confidence, earn college credit and save a significant amount on future college tuition.
Students choosing not to take the AP exam will still be responsible for completing all equired coursework.
