There are a million new shows and movies every month but most of them aren't very interesting or aren't advertised well enough. This makes it so difficult to find a good, entertaining show that you haven’t already watched. If you are in need of a recommendation then I have the perfect show for you!

Lanterns is the newest show in James Gunn’s DCU. It follows around (the GOAT) John Stewart and Hal Jordan as they try to uncover an alien conspiracy in a mass murder case. It takes place over two different times, one after the murders in 2016, and another in 2026 long after these events. In 2016, John Stewart, played by Aaron Pierre, is learning and getting used to his powers while Hal Jordan, played by Kyle Chandler, helps guide him. As they attempt to solve the crimes and find out who is behind them all, they also learn to be better together. Additionally, they get help and face challenges from outside of and within the Green Lantern Corp. There’s even a few nice cameos from other DCU projects, like Guy Gardner, who is still played by Nathan Fillion. The vibe is totally different from what I was expecting but I’ve been enjoying it so far. New episodes are still streaming every week on Sunday on HBO Max, with only 2 episodes left to go until the season finale. The latest episode comes back to the 2026 timeline after the brutal conclusion of episode five, bringing the story back into the already established storylines of the DCU. If you like action, drama, crime, or superhero shows then you’ll probably love Lanterns!
